A Healing Approach to Muscular and Joint Pain

Prolotherapy is an innovative technique that relieves pain by directly impacting the underlying condition causing that pain. In contrast to many medical treatments that may provide only temporary benefits, this safe, proven treatment offers lasting relief.
“Research studies show that over 80 % of people treated with Prolotherapy report a good or excellent result.”
Many conditions respond well to Prolotherapy such as facet syndrome( back and neck arthritis) whiplash, joint sprains, degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis, tennis elbow, sprains, strains , chronic tendonitis and more. Our board certified pain specialist can determine if you are a candidate for this alternative healing procedure.

Prolotherapy promotes long-term often permanent pain relief by stimulating the body’s ability to repair itself. Here is how it works and which it s a highly effective treatment program.
A solution of concentrated dextrose and local anesthetic (no steroids) solution is injected into he affected area such as ligaments, tendons, or joint capsules.
This solution acts not as a nutrient, but as an irritant by stimulating the body’s natural ability to repair these tissues by encouraging growth of new ligaments, tendons or other connective tissue fibers.
Multiple treatments encourage additional tissue growth to restore and strengthen the affected area.
Physical therapy also is performed to help strengthen the support structure around the injury area.
An individual plan is devised with Prolotherapy treatments scheduled every two to six weeks until the healing is complete and you can return to normal activities without pain.

The total appointment time takes approximately 30 minutes, including preparation, treatment and recovery time. This procedure is performed in our office so Prolotherapy relieves pain without the risks of surgery, or the use of steroid injections and best of all without a prolonged recovery period. In fact most people return to their jobs or usual activities right after the procedure.

Initially, mild but temporary swelling and stiffness may occur around the injection site. Some patients notice a major improvement after the first injection while others realize increasing improvement on each visit. Prolotherapy has shown good to excellent results in our center and is a great majority of patients have had a permanent resolve to their problem and can now enjoy full participation in activities again.
